I’ve heard of bootcamps over the years that last anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes with laps and laps of running and sit-ups.

I think that’s why many people don’t come to boot camps because they don’t have that kind of time. They might be a stay-at-home Mom, have a long commute, and even if they work from home, they may have a lot on their to-do list.

I know I do. Heck, I have a busy schedule myself coaching my clients, writing offline and online programs, giving you cool stuff like this

By the way, I’ve been getting some great feedback on the <a href="http://www.bootcampexercises.net/5-ways-to-change-up-your-pushups/"title="5 Ways to Change Up Your Pushups" >different pushups you can use with your bootcamps. I really appreciate it. I’ll make that into a series, and your clients (or yourself) will never get bored with pushups again.

Anyway, today, it’s all about Express workouts. I know the internet is packed with the whole “you must exercise at least 30-45 minutes every day” approach. But sometimes, life gets busy, and I’ve tested the express approach myself as well as with my clients and campers.

You can certainly get a great workout in 30 minutes or less.

Here is what you need to do:

1) Use big, compound movements

2) Keep the rest periods short

3) If you want to incorporate conditioning (the interval approach), than you could strategically put that in the program, too. That way, you get the benefits and interval training simultaneously. It’s called a workout finisher.

On a side note – if you only have 10 minutes to work out, this is what I suggest:

Do the following circuit as many times as possible in 10 minutes

1A) Squat (8)

1B) Pull-ups (2 reps short of failure)

1C) Decline Pushups (15)

That’s a solid 10-minute workout. Good times? Good times.

Moving on…

Here is an express workout you can use to stay in shape if you have a hectic schedule:

Fast Warm-up Circuit (2X with 30 secs of rest between circuits)

Bodyweight Squat (12)

Mountain Climbers (10/side)

Total Body Extensions (10)

Express Workout (Do this circuit 3 times, resting for 30 seconds between circuits)

Squat (8)

Pull-ups (1 rep short of failure)

DB Chest Press (8)

Spiderman Climb (10/side)

Finisher – Do this twice, resting for 10 seconds between supersets (yeah buddy)

DB or KB Swings (30)

Pushups (20)

Now, how do you translate that into a Bootcamp Workout? Well, you already learned how to use timed sets, right? Now we just need to use <a href="http://www.bootcampexercises.net/how-to-use-metabolic-resistance-training-with-bodyweight-exercises/"title="How to Use Metabolic Resistance Training with Bodyweight Exercises" >bodyweight exercises or simple DB moves for a bootcamp workout setting.

Let’s rock it… The Express Bootcamp Workout

Warm-up Circuit

Bodyweight Squat (20 secs)

Mountain Climbers (20 secs)

Total Body Extensions (20 secs)

The main workout

Narrow Stance Bodyweight Squat (30 secs) (these are tougher on the quads) or a Bodyweight Split Squat (30 secs/side)

Band Row or DB Rows (30 secs)

<a href="http://www.bootcampexercises.net/5-ways-to-change-up-your-pushups/"title="5 Ways to Change Up Your Pushups" >Spiderman Pushups (30 secs)

Total Body Extensions (30 secs)

Spiderman Climb (30 secs)

Now, you can see I added the Total Body Extension between the pushups and the Spiderman climb. The reason I did that is because it’s tough to go from the pushup to the Spiderman climb because you work your core more with a pushup than a DB chest press.

Finisher

DB or KB Swings (30 secs)

Pushups (30 secs)

Now that’s a solid Express workout.

So now, you or your clients don’t have an excuse to skip your workout

I’ll do a cool series on using metabolic workout finishers with your programs. They rock. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, keep working hard and let me know when you try this Express workout.

And have an awesome weekend!

Fitness boot camps are the surefire way for any trainer to get more time back in their life while making a lot more money.

If you are thinking about becoming a personal fitness trainer or are already a fitness trainer and have a client base you may want to look into the potentially huge opportunities that have risen involving the startup of fitness boot camps.

By applying boot camp workouts you’ll be able to train a size-able number of clients nearly anyplace without the need for equipment. The main issue is most trainers simply have no idea exactly where to begin when it comes to starting their own fitness boot camps. If you’re thinking about managing a very profitable company check out the reason why you should begin teaching fitness boot camps.

Fitness Boot Camps = Time Efficiency with Client Training

If you’ve ever found yourself going to various locations to train your clients or have plenty of down time simply because you might train your first client at 5:00am and also the next one may not be until 9 or 10:00am you already understand how hard it is to control your work-time to produce your income.

When training only one client at any given time your schedule will be be juggled to support their needs as well as your existing time availabilities. This may result in a lot of down time between consultations at which you may not have anything to do. With Fitness boot camps you are able to solve that issue by training 10 or even 12 clients at the same time. That is how to build an hourly rate paying you anywhere from $200 to $300 per hour according to your fees. Additionally , this enables you to possess much more time to yourself. By training 1 course a morning you could potentially make the same level of income you may have made by investing your whole day training clients.

Low Overhead Expenses with Fitness Boot Camps

Should you train clients at a health club you’re most likely having to pay the fitness center between 25% to 50% of your service fees to them. If you’ve got a large client base and they give you an office paying a monthly lease fee that also cuts into your earnings. With boot camp workouts the programs could be done outside on the beach, baseball fields, parks and recreational areas, or even in your own backyard or a clients yard. You can run fitness boot camps anywhere!

People love to workout and exercise outdoors within the fresh air and it can feel much better than going to a stuffy gym to workout. You’ve control of exactly where the workouts occur and also the income from your enrollment fees goes to you instead of a fitness center. Most gyms also require that you’ve got your personal trainer certification to be in instructor as it may fall under their insurance codes but you are able to teach boot camp programs without having an expensive personal trainer certification. It might cost slightly more for your trainers insurance but it can significantly reduce your start up expenses.

No Equipment Required for Boot Camp Workouts

While in the beginning stages of your business you are able to start off with bodyweight exercises and that’s all that’s needed to get a group in outstanding condition. While you get a lot more advanced classes you are able to begin to invest in some basic gear like stability balls and kettlebells to add a lot more variety. Keep in mind all of this is tax deductible so as you’re generating income make sure to invest some back into your business to help keep it growing and increasing in size and popularity. Always take a certain percent of your income to reinvest. You’ll be able to make over $100,000 annually running fitness boot camps and some individuals are even generating $200,000+ so if you’ve dreamed of making a lot of money doing what you love as a personal trainer then I highly suggest you take a serious look at the fitness boot camp industry.

If you aren’t sure where to start I have thoroughly reviewed the Turbulence Training Boot Camp business program. It is stacked with several books that you will need to be successful coming out of the gates. You’ll find it includes 21 already created boot camp workouts and complete instructions with templates on how to create your own starting with the warm up and taking your class through various stages like strength, conditioning, and games at the end to make it fun. In addition you’ll learn the proper way to market yourself and build up a client base faster than you ever thought possible with a referral generation system to create classes with next to no advertising costs.

A personal trainer certification can cost anywhere from $400 to $700 depending on what company you go through and most people don’t even learn much from the course if they have been in the industry for a long time. The TT Boot Camp program is a fraction of this cost and can be done in two payments. If you are entering into the fitness boot camp profession or personal training profession I highly suggest you take a look at the advantages of a system like this. Your income will soar with this guide to successfully start your own fitness boot camps.

Recently my friend Georgette Pann, the creator of SureVictory Fitness Boot Camp, has been sending me some great boot camp drills for trainers to add to their fitness boot camp classes and a couple weeks ago she sent me this fantastic list of exercises that you can get your fitness boot camp doing to whip them into super shape.

You do not have to spend lots of cash on equipment in order to provide your bootcamp trainees an excellent boot camp workout. Indeed, you can do a lot of bodyweight workouts or other no-equipment exercises. But to add variety to your bootcamps – which keeps trainees interested and excited about remaining a member — you can occasionally bring some exercise equipment to class. However, that doesn’t mean you need to max out your credit card just to stock up on boot camp equipment. You can simply scope out your basement or garage and then look over your work out area (such as a playground) – you’ll likely discover all the bootcamp equipment you’ll ever need.

I like to save some of the gold nuggets for my subscribers but seeing that spring is around the corner and I’ve had so many requests for extra outdoor workouts that I decided to post this up on the site for everyone to enjoy. This is one of my favorites because it exemplifies how we truly learn to react and live in the Marine Corps -always improvise and adapt to your surroundings and this is exactly what this fitness bootcamp workout shows you to do.

So here it is – Georgette Pann’s rockin’ outdoor boot camp workout using your surroundings and some makeshift equipment.

Fitness Boot Camp – 7 Exercises – no equipment needed

Here is a great seven-exercise circuit utilizing minimal or low-cost equipment…

TIP: Be sure to begin and end each session with five minutes of light physical exercise, so that your trainees correctly warm up and cool down.

Pull ups - You do not need to be in a gym to have your boot camp trainees do pull-ups. Get creative. If you are working out in a park, look around for a tree having a low, sturdy branch. Or if you’re working out near a playground, there’s probably plenty of equipment there that may double for a chin-up bar like a jungle gym or monkey bars.

Jump Rope – Make this station more interesting by having your fitness boot camp trainees race against the clock. Challenge them to get to a specific number of jumps before the time interval is up.

Weighted Squats – Instead of doing bodyweight squats, you can make this boot camp exercise more intense by adding weights. Typically the trainee would have a barbell resting on his or her shoulders or they would have a set of dumb bells in their hands. If you do not have these items handy, then you are able to improvise by picking up rocks, jugs full of sand or liquid, small pails filled with concrete or other heavy items.

Farmer’s Carry – In this bootcamp exercise, the trainee develops their grip strength by carrying something heavy for as long as possible. It’s called a “farmer’s carry” simply because farmers frequently use large pails full of water, sand or rocks. But you are able to use most any kind of weight (including things like rocks).

Box Jumps – For this fitness camp exercise you’ll require a sturdy platform that trainees can jump on and off repeatedly for the duration of the interval. (Note: Have your bootcamp trainees lace their fingers behind their heads while jumping.)

If you are near a park with a baseball field, scout out locations like the dugout or even the stadium seating region to see if there are stairs or chairs (bolted down) that could be utilized for this purpose.

Elevated Push Ups - Here your trainees will perform push-ups. The only difference is that their feet will be elevated to make it more challenging. You can elevate their feet using a box, a stepping stool, a stair or even something unusual like a fallen tree or a boulder.

Power Medicine-Ball Drop – For this fitness boot camp exercise you’ll need a medicine ball or a similar piece of gear, and your trainees will need a partner. Have them lie on the floor, face up, arms extended towards the sky/ceiling. The other person holds the ball and stands on a box or other elevated platform at his partner’s head. The person with the ball drops it. The person on the floor catches it, brings it to his chest and then launches it back to the standing individual with as much power as possible.

Repeat – If you don’t have assistants to act as partners for your trainees, then your trainees will have to partner up with someone for the circuit and switch positions midway through the allotted time.

Fitness Boot Camps Don’t Require a Big Budget

To sum it up, a big equipment budget isn’t needed to whip your trainees into top shape! For even more great fitness boot camp workout ideas, go to http://fitnessbootcampworkout.com/ — you won’t be disappointed!

Setting up a fitness boot camp has become the most profitable niche in the entire fitness industry. It has enabled trainers to make a lot more money in less time by pooling their time and resources into training groups of people with highly effective boot camp workouts.

You’ll find a lot of great articles on boot camp drills and how to use bodyweight exercises. Today we have my friend and guest author Georgette Pann, creator of the SureVictory Fitness Bootcamp Kit, giving some great advice on why the time to start a fitness boot camp is now.

Organize Your Fitness Boot Camp

By: Georgette Pann

Running a fitness boot camp is always a good idea. But it’s especially a good (and profitable!) idea right now. Here are five reasons why you should get your next boot camp organized ASAP…

Reason 1. Increase Fitness Boot Camp Revenue Now Before the Summer Slow Down

Soon enough, your boot camp prospects are going to get wrapped up in their summer activities. They’re going to go on vacation, chauffeur the kids back and forth to summer activities and spend more time relaxing. They’ll spend less time thinking about fitness, which means you’ll experience the summer slow down.

And that’s why now is such a great time to organize your next boot camp. It’s easy to get your prospect’s attention now (see Reason #3) – and you get the benefit of a nice boost to revenue.

Reason 2. You Can Run Theme Fitness Boot Camps

Many of your clients are going to join your boot camps for specific reasons. For example, you may have a boatload of people who want to get their “beach bodies” back before the warmest weather rolls in. And you may find your class filling with women who want to get in shape for their upcoming summer weddings or even a class reunion.

Start Boot Camps for Athletes

You can take advantage of these reasons by running theme-based boot camps, such as the “Boot Camp for Brides” or the “Beach Body Boot Camp or ”Athletic Bootcamps”

Reason 3. You Can Take Advantage of Your Clients’ Eagerness to Help Them Achieve Their Goals

As mentioned in Reason #2, many of your clients have very specific reasons for wanting to lose weight and get in shape. If nothing else, many of your clients are looking forward to shedding their winter weight and getting active again.

The point is, these reasons make your clients very eager to get results. They’re committed to the program and extremely motivated. And that means your class will be full of clients who show up and happily do everything you tell them to do.

So what happens? Your clients get results. You look like a miracle worker. And that means you have satisfied customers who’ll come back and happily do business with you again and again!

Reason 4. Spring Fever Means Your Clients Want to Get Outside

Your clients have spent all winter staring at the walls while they’ve worked out on their treadmills and stair steppers. They have a touch of spring fever. If they spend another day inside exercising, they’ll go crazy.

You see, your potential clients want to get outside to enjoy the fresh air and warm sunshine. That means they can ride their bikes, walk, jog, swim… or join your boot camp!

Reason 5. Your Fitness Boot Camp Class Has a Support System Built In

As a trainer, you know that one factor that contributes to your clients’ success is whether they have a support system in place. That’s the beauty of a boot camp – it has a built-in support system, since your trainees can motivate one another and hold each other accountable. And that means you’ve just increased the chances of your clients seeing fantastic results.

Bottom line: If your clients get results, they’re happy. And happy customers not only do repeat business, they tell their friends to join your classes, too!

Start Your Fitness Boot Camp Now

Now is the perfect time to organize that boot camp. Your clients are ready to get outside. They’re eager to see results.

All of this creates satisfied clients and a nice revenue boost for you!

I’ve been getting so many requests for boot camp drills and workouts for fitness boot camp trainers to add to their fitness boot camps that I reached out to my friend Georgette Pann the creator of SureVictory Boot Camps to help me out by getting me some of her more popular and effective techniques. Below you will find some great ideas that you can add to boot camps that are designed for athletes.

By Georgette Pann

If you are not already offering a specialized athletic bootcamp, you may wish to schedule 1 soon. That’s because they’re growing in popularity. Athletes know that in order to truly compete, they can’t just train at practice and throughout the on season. They need to train during the off-season, as well.

That’s where your athletic bootcamp comes into play. Depending on which sports avid gamers you are targeting, you’ll help your clients train for pace, agility, power, endurance or some combination of these four.

You can produce these abilities through plyometric workouts, weight training and circuit training. You are able to also produce any individual skill by practicing the exact skill repeatedly. For instance, if you’ve basketball avid gamers that need to enhance their jumps, then be certain your bootcamp includes a range of jumping activities.

When you are planning your athletic bootcamps, keep in mind what kind of skills avid gamers in specific sports need. For example:

Basketball avid gamers need to practice jumps, get faster and produce endurance.

Tennis players require agility, speed and strength.

Football avid gamers require all four, depending on what position they play.

Track and field athletes’ requirements depends on their specialty (e.g., shot-put, sprinting, long distance running, hurdles, etc). And so on.

Let me share with you a variety of workouts that you are able to incorporate into your next athletic bootcamp:

Sled drags

This one is easy – just hook your trainees up to a harness, and then attach that harness to a pounds. You might have the trainee drag anything from pounds plates to an old tire. For added hard, have them operate up hill or operate backwards with the sled. This really is a excellent exercise to assist produce power and endurance.

Running stairs

If your athletes need to produce endurance, have them run stairs in a stadium. It also helps some with agility and power.

Suicide runs

You can find plenty of names for this one, for example “confidence runs.” But the idea is the same: Trainees begin at Place A. They operate from Point A to Point B, then back towards the start. Then they operate from Point A to Point C, which is just a bit further than Place B. This continues until the trainee has operate all the “lines,” which might number to a dozen or more.

This exercise can increase speed, if there aren’t numerous lines and also the runners are focusing on sprinting fast. Otherwise, you can have trainees doing much more lines for endurance. If you wish to assist trainees improve agility, put a block on the lines for them to pick up and carry back to the starting place.

Bungee runs

This really is where you attach a strong bungee cord to the runner. He takes off as swiftly as feasible and runs for as far as he can. This physical exercise improves pace and strength.

Depth jumps

If you’ve basketball avid gamers in your class who require to improve their agility and their jumps, try this exercise. The starting position is on a box or other elevated platform. Trainees should jump off the box and crouch down to the ground as they land. Then they should jump up explosively (as high as feasible).

Medicine ball drills

Here’s an additional great 1 for basketball avid gamers, but it helps build upper body strength for other athletes as well. Below are a couple variations.

First, have trainees partner up. Then:

Have partners toss the ball back and forth.

Have partners lie down in the sit up position, facing each other. Both partners should complete 1 sit up. When they get into the upright position, the partner using the ball should toss it towards the other partner. Immediately both partners ought to total an additional sit up. Keep repeating.

One partner sits about the ground, arms outstretched, palms up. The other individual stands over him and drops the ball into his hands. The sitting partner catches the ball and brings the back of his hands to the floor as he does. Then he tosses the ball back up to the partner. Maintain repeating.

In sum: Your trainees will get the most out of your bootcamp should you tailor the workouts to meet their power, pace, endurance and agility needs.
Teaching a fitness boot camp can be an extremely rewarding experience. Helping groups of people to get in shape at the same time is fun and boot camp workouts are typically very intense. With all the options that people have in order to exercise and get in shape, your boot camp will need to offer not only a fun and exciting atmosphere, but actual definable RESULTS that participants can see. A bootcamp that produces great results is one that will gain a lot of popularity by word of mouth and you will have people lining up to sign up for your next fitness boot camp class.

Listed here are 4 fitness boot camp exercises that are not only fun, but will deliver INCREDIBLE results. If these are not a part of your fitness bootcamp yet, then it’s time to include them to give your boot camp trainees an extra challenge that will get them into condition faster than ever adding more variety to your boot camp drills.

1. Pistols
A surefire test of bodyweight strength and muscle control, as well as an INCREDIBLE leg workout is the pistol. This is a one-legged squat in which you place one leg out in front of you and then slowly lower yourself until your thigh is parallel. For an additional challenge go even lower if possible to increase the difficulty. Just as in a normal squat, it is crucial to keep your knee behind the toes. In group workouts, make sure to watch your students form closely so that injuries can be avoided. Once you are able to get everyone in your fitness bootcamp performing pistols, their leg strength will increase dramatically! If you really want to see them wince, have them hold a kettlebell out in front of their body!

2. Turkish Get-Up
Possibly one of the best total body exercises known to man (and women), the Turkish Get-up will challenge your will and muscular endurance like no other exercise. Start by lying on your back along with a kettlebell in one hand while it is held with the arm extended straight up in the air. Next, move from lying on your back to standing straight up and then back down again. This is all done while holding the kettlebell straight up in the air. Make sure you learn the form for this one from an experienced trainer. This is a very difficult boot camp exercise but this single exercise will ensure that Nobody forgets the workout they endured at your fitness boot camp!

3. Burpees
It’s really unknown where this exercise got its name as it is less likely that someone will burp as throw up when doing this fitness bootcamp exercise. There is one thing I can guarantee, and that is that your fitness bootcamp participants will be on FIRE after knocking out a few repetitions of these babies! Simple enough to do, go from standing straight up, right to a push up position (not in several motions as in a squat thrust, but in one controlled motion) and then go straight into a push-up. After that, pop up to a standing position again and jump as high as you can into the air with your hands over your head. That is one repetition. Do a few and you will understand what burpees are all about…

4. Kettlebell Swings
Personally, I think kettllebell swings make a great foundation for ANY extreme boot camp exercise program as they not only provide a great overall muscular workout, they will train your cardiovascular system as well making it a great fat loss workout! Just pick up a kettlebell with both hands, and swing it through your legs and then up and in front of you up to eye level. If you want to add more intensity, swing the kettlebell straight overhead. Continue for 20-25 reps and you will know why this exercise is soon becoming a fitness bootcamp favorite.Make sure these 4 exercises are a part of your next bootcamp and you can rest assured that your attendees will feel the burn and get the results they were looking for!

Everyone has been asking me for more boot camp drills for group workouts and that they can do at home on their own and Georgette has been hard at work this week helping to deliver more. She also just released her SureVictory Home Boot Camp.

So let’s take a look at these extreme boot camp drillsfor those of you that want to either challenge your next fitness boot camp class or for you home boot campers out there that like to punish yourselves with an intensive workout at home.

Five Boot Camp Drills that Deliver Results
Georgette Pann

Ahhh, the joys of training a boot camp class…

Hearts pounding. Men and women sweating. Causing all of your trainees to give you “I hate you looks” because their muscles are burning up and they think that their lungs are going to explode. However , you just give them a big smile because you know the students in your fitness boot camp are getting the one thing they really want: RESULTS! FAST RESULTS!

It is also very important that your trainees don’t get bored. Which is why you always need to bring in brand-new exercises and boot camp drills to keep your fitness boot camp fresh. Additionally, new exercises keep your trainees’ bodies guessing – and again, that means results!

So let’s cut to brass tacks, listed here are five boot camp drills for group workouts you can begin incorporating immediately into your classes or you can do them as part of your home boot camp workout routine.

TIP: Make sure you have your class get in a warm-up and cool-down before performing these drills. Light jogging for 5-10 minutes should do just fine, followed by some light stretching.

1. Pack Runs

Here’s how it works: Have your trainees line up (single file) and start jogging. Once you call out a signal word or blow a whistle, the person at the back of the line must sprint to the front of the line and becomes the new leader.

This one is really effective when you have a medium to large size boot camp class, since the person doing the sprinting has got to sprint furthur. If you have a smaller class, it is possible to accomplish the same thing by spreading your runners out with a little more space in between them.

2. Suicide Bear Crawls

You’ve heard of suicide lines (AKA “ego makers” and a lot of other names). This is when your trainees run from the starting point to a line that is about 25 feet away, then back to the starting point, then out to a line around 40 feet away, then returning to the starting point… and so on until they’ve run and touched each and every line.

You may also have heard about bear crawls, in which trainees walk around on all fours (hands and feet) just like a bear.

This boot camp drill brings together these two great exercises. Rather than sprinting to the lines, your bootcamp trainees will alternate sprinting and bear crawling. As an example, you could have them bear crawl OUT to the lines, and then sprint back.

3. Shadow Runs

This one is fantastic for developing agility. First have your trainees partner up. One partner is the leader and will take off jogging. The other partner “shadows” the leader as closely as possible. So if the leader zigs to the right and then hops on one foot, the 2nd person must do exactly the same moves.

Every two minutes you can blow the whistle to signal the leaders and followers to change positions. You may also make a signal for “double time,” where each pairing must at least double their pace for 30-60 seconds (right up until you blow the whistle again).

4. Drag Runs

This is an excellent boot camp drill to develop speed and strength. Additionally, it can be used as a team building exercise.

Here’s how it’s done -

Create a heavy drag (such as a tire on a chain) with an easy on, easy off harness. Now have on of you boot camp trainees drag the tire while all others jog behind. Once you blow your whistle, the next person in line must quickly seize control of the tire and begin dragging it. That means all team members get a minimum of one turn dragging the tire.

The goal is for the team to reach a particular destination within a certain amount of time.

TIP: There are several heart pumping variants that you can do. As an example, you could have all the others running suicide lines or pack runs right up until you blow the whistle, at which point somebody else must take control of the tire. This way one person is dragging the tire and everyone else is sprinting – resulting in a great workout for the entire class!

5. Slalom Runs

Here’s a boot camp drill that can help develop both speed and agility. Simply setup a series of cones or other markers for as far as you want your fitness boot camp trainees to run. Then have them run through the cones slalom style – which means they need to weave back and forth.

For a fun variation, blow the whistle and call out an exercise – for instance, burpees or push-ups. Trainees have to do that exercise until you blow the whistle again, and then they continue sprinting through the slalom.

Bring these five exercises to your fitness boot camps and your trainees are likely to hate you – but they’re going to LOVE their results!

These 5 high powered boot camp drills will challenge your fitness boot camp class to get their hearts pounding, muscles burning, and fat melting off of the their bodies. Try this boot camp drill at home by yourself or use it in your next fitness boot camp.

Both boot camp trainers and clients alike know the power of boot camp workouts so setting up a tough routine of rigorous boot camp drills is where it all begins. These grueling training sessions are aptly named after the intense fitness regimens that the military puts new recruits through. If you really want to whip your boot camp attendees into shape, you need to approach your boot camp workouts with the same philosophy…mix it up, keep ‘em moving, and keep it INTENSE.

Now, intensity is great, but RESULTS are what will bring your clients back again and again and encourage them to refer friends and family to your sessions. Below are 5 extremely effective boot camp drills for group workouts that will get great results:

Boot Camp Drills – Results Driven!!!!

Triple Minute warm-ups, 2 sets- Now, you know you have to do SOMETHING to warm up your boot camp group attendees, but you also want to start getting hearts pumping fairly quickly right off the bat. These triple minute workouts will do the trick!

For one minute, have your attendees do jumping jacks

For the next minute, have them jump rope

For the third minute, have them do burpees (jump up, into squat thrust, repeat)

Repeat one more time for a total of 6 minutes

H.I.I.T. sessions, 4 total intervals-If you have never heard of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), you are missing out on what may be the most effective fat burning technique to date. Simply put, you do an exercise at low intensity for a set period of time, then you switch to MAXIMUM intensity for a shorter duration. The most common HIIT exercise is jogging/running.

Mark a distance of approximately 75-100 yards.

Have your attendees jog up and back at a slow to moderate pace for approximately 2 minutes

Once they have gone up and back once have them switch to a SPRINT and run the distance one time.

Repeat these INTERVALS a total of 4 times.

These are definitely boot camp drills for group workouts that will show your attendees that you are SERIOUS about helping them achieve the results they are after….trust me.

3 More Boot Camp Drills

10 and 1’s-This boot camp drill will get shoulders and chests burning and PUMPED for sure!

Make sure to have ample sets of lightweight dumbbells, often 5-10 lbs at most

Split your boot camp attendees into two groups

Have the first group do one push up while the second group does one shoulder press with one dumbbell in each hand, then have them switch

Have them continue to do this adding one rep each time (two pushups, two presses, etc)

Once they reach 10, have them go back DOWN, 9,8,7,6 etc.

Most will not be able to complete this even using 5 lb weights, so make sure to monitor individuals and note where they cutoff as this will help to mark the progress they make

Be ready for a few phone calls the next day about the fact that they can’t lift their shoulders….careful, this one hurts!

High Rep Squat Drills-They call them THE BASIC for a reason…they WORK and they provide the basis for all serious workouts. Having your attendees squat for major reps definitely makes any serious list of boot camp drills for group workouts every time.

Simply put, have your attendees assume the position and begin squatting

Aim for 100 reps

Great boot camp drill as it is motivating to get into a rhythm with attendees and have their competitive nature kick in as their rep count goes higher and higher.

Planks for time-By now, your boot camp attendees will most likely be hating you…but this is ostensibly what you want. You are there to help them GET RESULTS! This is about high intensity fitness, not light jogging and discussing the latest episode of American Idol. Tell your attendees for the next exercise, they won’t even have to MOVE…they will feel a sense of relief, until you tell them that you will be timing them while they are in the plank position.

Have them assume a rigid plank, body straight, supported by forearms underneath and weight on toes as well.

Have them hold as you time them for 2 minutes. Advanced members may go longer, but many will fail after 1 minute.

There you have it, 5 boot camp drills for group workouts that get results. Performing these exercises in succession will not only have your boot camp attendees out of breath, but their muscles will be screaming for relief as if they performed a heavy weight lifting session for hours! Your goal is to provide results as well as make the boot camp workouts interesting…the exercises above will certainly fit the bill!
